Sid Lovell

 

 

Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2009
Inducted : 2010, Rochester, NY

Sid was born in Buffalo, NY in 1942. He graduated from Williamsville in 1960 having captained the football team and lettering in four sports. After a brief stint at Illinois University, he returned to Western New York and took up residence in Medina.

Sid has participated in a variety of team sports all his adult life:

1968 - Lockport Suburban League Semi-Pro Baseball
1971 - City of Auburn Over 30 Champions
1972 - League at Bayview Park
1972 - Rochester Metropolitan 'B' Champions
1985 - City of Dayton, Ohio Over 40 Champions
1968 ' 2007 Medina Mens 'Slo-Pitch' League

Sid was especially fortunate to record over 80 consecutive regular season wins as the starting pitcher for the Fisher Price team from 1974 to 1980.

Sid is currently the Orleans Area Director and has been registering teams for USSSA since 1979. In addition he facilitates and coordinates scheduling, field building and maintenance for all leagues as needed. Sid began umpiring Slo-Pitch softball in 1973. He is a past President and Assigner for the Orleans County Umpires Association, and still umpires the occasional game.
