In 2000, John joined SORA (Sports Officials of the Rochester Area) as an umpire. He is extremely grateful to Gary Godden and Bob Reed to be given the opportunity to travel all over the country and umpire in USSSA World Series Events. He has worked the Men’s, Women’s, Black American and Military World Tournaments many times and this has allowed him to meet and develop  great friendships across the country with Rick Martz, Dale McGregor and Bob Holland to name only a few.

John was appointed an USSSA Area Director in 2003 and then the USSSA NYS Baseball Director in 2010. He continues to grow USSSA in all sports not only in Rochester, but throughout the whole state. Rochester has increased in every sport, softball, baseball, fast pitch, flag football, basketball and kickball in 2012. John was awarded the USSSA Baseball Director of the year in 2012 at the USSSA National Convention in Temecula, Ca.

None of this would have been possible without the support of all the SORA Officials. John has built many great friendships and relationship over the years, a special thanks to James, Sam, Mike, Tim, Jose, Al, Mark and Paul.

Thank you to my loving wife Beverly and my whole family for supporting me all these years and letting me do something that I truly enjoy.
