Mark Ventrone

Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2023
Inducted : March 9 2024, Syracuse, NY.
Mark is a lifetime resident of Syracuse with his wife Karen and their children Kristie and Josh.
He is a Graduate of Most Holy Rosary High School in Syracuse. He attended St. Leo College
and SUNY Oneonta; graduated from SUNY Buffalo School of Law. He played college baseball,
42 years playing softball (Syracuse City Rec & Hopkins Road County) for teams primarily
sponsored by Phil Bova’s Idle Hour/Captain’s Corner and Limp Lizard Onondaga Boulevard.
Forty (40) years managing teams. He is the city of Syracuse Parks & Recreation Softball Board
of Directors and Board President for 40 years.
A career attorney in both private practice and more recently as Deputy County Attorney for
Onondaga County.
Some softball playing highlights include playing with his Big Brother Program “Little” brothers
Mark Pontello and John Wood. Playing infield next to my brother-in-law, Milt Vazquez for many
years. Playing with my son Josh in recent years. Having my wife Karen keep the score book so
we didn’t have to. Post game gatherings and camaraderie.
