Peter D. Eaton was raised in Western Pennsylvania. He entered the United States Army after high school. Upon completion of his military duty, he earned Bachelor and Master Degrees from Adelphi University.

Peter is the Director of Adult Softball for the Town of Brookhaven's Parks and Recreation Department on Long Island. He is beginning his fortieth year in softball. Peter began his career as a scorekeeper and player for local teams. He supervises a softball program that has been honored by the USSSA for its contributions since joining New York State USSSA in 1976. The Town of Brookhaven's Adult Softball Program has hosted World, National, Regional, Divisional, State, and local tournaments for over thirty years. At the present time he supervises a program with one hundred ninety-two teams that play from April to December. Including this evenings inductees, twelve people from Brookhaven Town's Adult Softball Family have been honored by the New York State USSSA Hall of Fame for the contributions to softball.

Peter is also a fifth grade teacher at the Clinton Avenue Elementary School in Comsewogue School District. He is finishing his forty-first year in teaching. He has three children, Faye, Robert, and Jennifer. He is also the proud grandparent of six grand children.

Peter gives thanks to all the players, umpires, officials, friends, fellow employees, and family who have helped him earn this honor.
