Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2024
Inducted : March 2026, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
I began my athletic career playing baseball until my freshman year of high school, at which point I transitioned to fastpitch softball at Long Beach High School on Long Island. While at Long Beach, I was honored as a three-time All County Selection and maintained a career batting average exceeding .500. My accomplishments have been recognized with inductions into the NYS High School Softball Hall of Fame, Section 8 Nassau County Hall of Fame, Long Beach High School Hall of Fame, and the USSSA (Team of Distinction) Hall of Fame.
During high school, I competed with the Long Express Fastpitch Organization and continued my softball career as a Division I student-athlete at Georgia Southern University, where I earned All-Region honors. Throughout my college summers, I began playing slow pitch, starting in the Merrick Road Park league under Barbara Simms, and later played with Courtney's Café, coached by Annie Diprima. I continued participating in fastpitch through the Empire State Games until age 36, earning silver and bronze medals for the Long Island Division.
Several summers later, I joined Bob DeAngelis and the Uniform Pro Mice (County Sports), under whose leadership I competed at the highest levels of softball—C, B, A, and Majors—attaining All American status and contributing to national championships (B, A, and a third-place finish in Majors). My tenure with this team spanned over two decades, during which I primarily played outfield and first base and earned recognition for my strong throwing arm and ability to make strategic outs. Additionally, I participated in numerous leagues across Long Island, including coed divisions, and played with Connecticut Storm managed by Mary Cavataro.
After being diagnosed with cancer, I temporarily stepped away from the sport but returned to play senior ball with Team Works, based in Virginia/PA and managed by the late Kathy Wilson. Although I am now retired from active competition, I remain dedicated to the development of the game. I am the owner of 88 Stitches Fastpitch Training Center in Deer Park and Diamond Dominators Fastpitch in Oceanside, where I provide pitching and hitting instruction throughout the year.
