Patty Burnside

Patty was a graduate of East Meadow H. S. in 1979 where she played Vollyball, Field Hockey and Softball. Patty attended New York Tech on a softball scholarship graduating in 1984. Patty started her softball career at the age of 15 and was recruited by Amos Bozeman at the age of 18 to play shortstop for the HUTLEY CHASERS. She played shortstop with them for 5 years before joining the COUNTY SPORTS MICE from 1984 to 1994 before retiring due to 5 knee surgeries during her career.

Patty partioci[pated in 13 National Tournaments being selected to the All-Tournament Team 3 times as a shortstop and 4times as an Outfirlder with a lifetime Batting Average of .420.

Patty was a member of the U. S. Handball Team from 1979 - 1984. In 2004 she was inducted in the East Meadow H. S. Athletic Hall of Fame and in 2009 into the New York Tech Athletic Hall of Fame.

Patty also has coached softball at New York Tech, St. John's University and East Meadow H. S. She has been teaching computer science in the East Meadow School Distict for the past 29 years.
