Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2009
Inducted : March 2010, Rochester, NY
variety of roles. As a player she participated in junior college field hockey, basketball, volleyball and fast-pitch softball before continuing with field hockey at SUNY Brockport (B.S., 1975) and a 30-year career as a slow-pitch pitcher. Vivian has coached and officiated field hockey, basketball and softball, and currently officiates field hockey and volleyball.
After a career as a fast-pitch second baseman, Vivian began pitching slow-pitch softball because none of her fast-pitch teammates wanted the position. Vivian considers herself fortunate to have met and played with so many talented softball players. She attributes much of her success and honors to the talents of those players she was fortunate to have as teammates. As rewarding as the local, State and Regional Championships and Titles were for everyone involved, Vivian stated that the dates of those accomplishments and statistics have blurred with time. For her, the vivid parts of her softball experience are the lifelong friendships that were formed and the time spent with her softball teammates. Vivian considered it a honor to be recognized with her teammates as the NYS USSSA 2008 Team of Distinction.
Vivian would like to thank her parents for their support, and thank the USSSA Hall of Fame Directors and organizers for their efforts to make this induction ceremony possible.
