Bob Hawkins




Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2014
Inducted : March 2015, Islandia, NY.
 

Bob has been involved with the Brookhaven Recreation Department for over 45 years. He has played and/or managed since Graduating from Western Connecticut State College in 1971.His teams have won a couple of Adult Men’s Softball Championships, and his Old Crusaders over 40 league team won 3 Championships. This year will be Bob’s 20th year as a Brookhaven Town Scorekeeper.

In 2007 Bob retired after more than 34 years working as a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service. Bob assisted friends Tony Palato and Dennis Hulse with the creation of the Moriches Youth Organization in the early 70’s. After 7 very enjoyable years, 2015 will mark Bob’s 8th year playing in the Brookhaven Town’s over 60 league.

Bob has had the honor of receiving the Richard Fitch “Above and Beyond” award from the Brookhaven Recreation and is the only scorekeeper to have ever been awarded the Dennis Xeno Brookhaven Town scorekeeper of the year twice.

Bob would like to thank the Brookhaven Scorekeeping leaders, Rick Marz, Ray Senefelder, Andy Heireck and most especially Mr. Peter Eaton. He is the reason why Brookhaven Softball is so respected.
