Dave was born, raised, and still resides in Rochester, New York with his wife Linda and 2 daughters, Katie and Rachel. He was an outstanding baseball player in high school where he was named all county 2 years in a row winning Section V Baseball in 1980. Immediately after high school he began his career in slow pitch softball playing for Superstar Sports with John and Dennis Warren. He continued on to play for Pat Kehoe with Pace/Marlen floor in 1984 retiring with Pace Electronics in 1996. During that time period, Pace competed in a Class A or AA World tournament each year.
In 1987 he was named to the major player's list. During that year Pace Electronics won the NSA Class A World Title in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 1990 Dave won a Gold Glove at the Kiracofe Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan; later that year, Pace finished 2nd in the USSSA Class A World Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan where Dave won the Class A World Tournament Batting Title and was 2nd in tournament homeruns to teammate Gene Legler.
He was a career .700 hitter with power while playing third base. Dave has hit over 1,000 homeruns in both league and tournament play. He played in 3 major World Series (1992, 1993, and 1995) and was named to several all tournament teams and named MVP numerous times. He was selected to the Class A All World Team twice
Dave retired from Softball in 1996 but continues to pass on his knowledge of the game to both of his daughters who participate in girl's fast pitch softball. His election and induction to the USSSA Hall of Fame this year is an honor and should be shared with his many teammates who helped make this possible.
Dave would also like to thank the directors, organizers, and selection committee for all of their hard work throughout the year and also congratulate this year's Hall of Fame Inductees. He looks forward to attending many more of these ceremonies in years to come.
