Don Brown

Don was born in 1942 and raised in Jamestown, NY. He graduated from Ithaca College with a Teaching Degree in Physical Education as well as a Master Degree.

Don coached Varsity Basketball and Baseball at Greece Olympia and Greece Athena for 24 years. the Athena Boy's Varsity Basketball Team were the 1992 Undefeated Class A State Champions (26-0). The Trojans were led by John Wallace, who was the New York State Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as a McDonald's All-American.

Don started to play softball at the age of 30 with several Rochester, NY teams and advanced to play with Pace Electronics. That team finished in 3rd place in the World Championship in 1977. Don was asked to play on the Rochester Express Pro-Softball Team in (APSPL) in 1979. The Express went from last place to first with Don sharing pitching duties (43 Wins) and ended up in the top 5 in the league in batting average. The Express won the 1980 Pro-League Play Off World Series, 5 games to 4 over the Pittsburgh Hard Hats. Don was the winning pitcher and named the MVP of the Series. Was was also selected to the Pro-League All-Star Team in 1979 and 1980.

Don began Senior Softball at the age 50 with the Rochester Legends. He became player/manager in 1998. The Rochester Legends have since won 8 World Championships and over 50 total tournaments. In 2007, the Legends won the T.O.S. (Tournament of Champions) in the 60 Major Division in Orlando, Florida. Because of this, the team was ranked #1 in the Country. Don was selected to 7 All-World Teams and has batted over .700 each year. The success of the Legends was their overall commitment, dedication, and pride to compete at the highest level.
