James Dunphy

Jim Married Karen McCarthy on November 10, 1990. They had two children (Ryan and Erin).
Jim started playing softball in the early 80s for recreation. Tournament Ball started soon after.
He played primarily in Suffolk County, NY. Teams and sponsors included Long Island Reds,
Dakota Rose, Crawdaddy's, Shannahan’s, Son and Father Construction, Barrack’s, Hometown
Tavern, Parkin’ Lot Pimpin, Ball So Hard, Megapower’s, Paradise/Roebelle/Allstate Carburetor
and Silver Streaks. Over the last 40 years there have been dozens of league and tournament
championships. Some personal achievements along the way include:
Fall 2015 – Empire Softball League MVP
2017 & 2018 – Empire Softball Can of Corn Tournament MVP
2021 – Metro Long Island USSA Senior Championship co-MVP
Batting average over .800 in the 3 trips to SSUSA over 50 Worlds (2019, 2021, 2022). Multiple
SSUSA tournament championships and All-Tournament teams since 2017.
