Born and raised in Rochester New York, John's softball career started in 1981 playing for Marlen Floors. For the first seven years, John hit 469 Home runs and had 709 RBI's in tournament and league play. He helped Davies ' Marlen win the Class 'B' World Title in 1986.
In 1987, John was named to the Major Players list for USSSA softball. He began playing for Pat Kehoe and Pace Electronics. Playing for Pace, John played in three Major World Series (1992, 1993, and 1995). He also played in the 'A' or 'AA' world tournaments in each year through 1996. John and his team mates played in many national invitational tournaments representing Pace and Rochester area softball.
During his sixteen year career, John has been selected to twenty 'seven USSSA Regional and National Qualifier All Tournament teams in class 'B', 'A' and 'AA'. He has won many Home Run and Most Valuable Player awards. John was a career .600 plus power hitter, playing both infield and outfield. John hit well over 1200 home runs and had approximately 2900 RBI's.
