Ken Schultz


 
 

Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2017
Inducted : March 2018 Smithtown, NY.

 

Ken was born in 1950 in Brooklyn and moved to Long Island in 1965. He graduated from St. Lawrence University and received a Masters from C.W.Post. Ken taught Social Studies and coached Girls Basketball at Connetquot H.S. in Bohemia for 31 years reaching the State Finals in 1997. For the past 9 Years he has worked as an assistant basketball coach at Northport H.S. He lives today in Oakdale with my wife, Susan, of 41 years. They have two children, Dave and Julianne and two grandchildren, Kenny and Robby.

Ken began playing softball in 1972 and started playing USSSA in 1980's, where he found his niche as a pitcher. He was fortunate to play on many outstanding teams:  112 Carpet, Timeout, Madden, Vets, Superior and TNT. He played in many State, Regional and National Tournaments while earning a number of All Tournament and MVP honors through 2010. Since 2009 he has played Senior Softball locally in Brookhaven with the NY Silver Streaks. In addition, he has played in Senior Softball Tournaments and has participated in 9 Winter Nationals in Florida winning The Triple A Nationals in 2016 with the NY Jaguars.

It's a great honor to be selected to the Hall of Fame. As with any such award, a special thanks goes to all of his teammates and coaches who made the plays and supported him over the years. Finally, thanks to the Hall of Fame Committee and congratulations to all the new inductees.
