Rick grew up in Lake Grove, Long Island and graduated from Sachem High School were he met Judy, his High School sweetheart. This August we will be married 40 years. He has 2 beautiful children, Ricky (32) and Renee (35) and his Son-in-Law Jeremy, with 2 beautiful grandchildren Julia and Jaclyn, Rick graduated from Cortland College (Red Dragon) in 1978 with a bachelor's in Health Education/Health Administration. While at Cortland Rick played football and baseball.
He received his master’s from Adelphi College in Health/Psychology. Rick taught Health Education and Peer Leadership for the Lindenhurst School District for 34 years before retiring in 2012. In lindenhurst he coached Varsity Football for 30 years as the offensive coordinator, he also coached baseball for 23 years and is presently the Varsity Softball coach entering his 9th year.

- 1999 Team SCB Tournament record 35 wins 5 loses
- Over a ten year period, played in 78 tournaments winning 27
- 2000 Long Island Player of the Year at age 44 (40 HRs, 114 RBIs,
113 Hits, 148 ABs and .764 Average.)
Rick has played Softball for 39 years, 30 of which were played in the Town of Brookhaven, He played for teams: SCB, Giant Steel, Giove, Reynolds Yarn, Silver Streaks. Over the 30 years of playing in Brookhaven, he was part of 21 League or Tournament Championships, He also has been part of winning 18 Class A/B USSSA Tournaments, with 9 All Tournament and 4 MVP selections. 1983, 1987 (Staten Island) and 1990 (Rochester - Co-MVP - All Tournament) NY State B Champions; 1986 NIT Champs (Ft Devens, Ma); 1987 All Tournament selection - Melvin Memorial NIT and Northeast Nationals; 1991, 1999 and 2002 A/B Champions (Belmar NJ); 1992 NIT Rumpke - Cincinnati OH; 1995, 1999 and 2000 Cape May NJ - A/B Champions in 1999 and 2000 (2000 MVP); 1996 A NIT Champions in Vernon, Ct; 2000 NY State Over 40 Champions; 2015 and 2016 Eastern Nationals Over 60 with All tournament both years and MVP 2016; 2016 Senior National Champions Fort Meyers Fl Over 60 - All Tournament Team.
Currently he plays with the Over 60 Long Island Jaguars – and played in 7 Tournaments in 2017.
