Born in 1964, Steve is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Steve has always loved sports, in particular baseball which he started playing at the age of 5. He attended SheepsheadBay High School, where he excelled in baseball and basketball; he earned “All-City” honors and was the captain of both teams.
Steve played softball in a modified pitch adult league at the age of 15 for the Brooklyn Flames, managed by Jimmy Thomas. He earned “Rookie of the Year” honors and before leaving New York City in 1984, he garnered 6 All-Star selection (1 MVP) and a league MVP.
In 1985, Steve started playing Slo-Pitch softball, earning two All-Star selections in the Inner City League @ # 6 School with the Roadrunners, managed by Kenny Reed.
In 1987, Steve joined Scott’s, managed by Gene Williams and played until 1992 when he join Pace Electronic, where he played until he retired in 2007.
During a career that spanned over 20 years in Slo-Pitch, Steve played on 8 World Championship teams with Pace, earned numerous All-tournament Awards as well All Defensive Player Awards and a tournament award at the AA level. He is proud to be part of the Pace/TPS team selected as the Team of Distinction by the NYS USSSA Hall of Fame in 2010.
