Bob started his softball coaching career in 1977. Taking over from the late Mickey Norton, he coached the County Sports Mice for the next 25 years. Entering the 2006 season, Bob is currently in his fourth season coaching the Long Island Tides.

Bob gained a great deal of respect from both his players and opposing coaches during his coaching career. During his tenure, the Mice had participated in 25 consecutive nationals of which 10 were in the World Series. He and his team also had the honor of participating in the first ever USSSA Womens World Series in 1988. The Mice, with the guidance of Bob, proved to be a strong opponent as they finished 2nd in the country to powerhouse Empress Chili. The Mice also had won 2 National Championships and finishing 2nd three times and 3rd three times. His teams were usually ranked among the strongest in the country.

With the dedication, love and passion for the game of softball, Bob has demonstrated his coaching ability once again as he has taken the Long Island Tides, a young, inexperienced team to national recognition in just four short years. The Tides have participated in 4 nationals and have finished 2nd once and 3rd twice.

Bob's coaching ability has been recognized an rewarded as he has been voted Coach of the Year twice. With the success that Bob team's has enjoyed he has been fortunate to have coached many talented players. He currently has seven of his players inducted into the Long Island Hall of Fame. He has coached two players, Lisa Stellato & Gail Wasmus, both of whom are in the New York State USSSA Hall of Fame.
