Carl Masters

Carl was born in Rochester, New York on October 2, 1953.  He attended Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated in 1971.  He worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 26 years and has been employed at the Monroe County Airport in Airport Operations for the last 4 years. 

Carl and his wife, Terri, have been married for 37 years and have three children, two daughters, Gina and Melissa and a son, Mike.   

He started playing slo-pitch in 1970 and has been participating ever since as either a player or a manager.  Some of the outstanding teams he has been associated with over the years include:  Masters Del, Garage Door, Pace Bootlegger and GubiottiInsurance. 

His major achievements over the years include the fact that he played and managed in over 30 World Tournaments.  In 2005, he was a player/manager of the GubiottiInsurance team that won three World Championships:  the Northeastern Championship in Syracuse, NY; the ISA World Tournament in Manassas, VA and the LVSSA World Series in Las Vegas, NV.  In 1987, his Pace/Bootlegger team won the NSA World Tournament in Chattanooga, TN.  In 1983, the Garage Door won the USSSA "B" State Tournament at Ridgewood Park. 

In addition to the three 2005 Championships, he was selected to two All World positions at the Northeastern Championships and the ISA World Tournament.. 

Over the years, Carl has had many great moments against many great teams, but most will say he is a class act in the game whether he is managing or playing.  He is a good sportsman who provides both team spirit and leadership on his teams and displays a great love for the game that many players look up to.  He considers the wonderful friendships that he has developed over the years in
