With a career spanning over 20 years JT played and coached with mainly two teams: The Change of Pace/Tully’s and Sunrise Tomato. Arguably one of the best leaders on a local, state and national level, JT was the one player or coach that everyone wanted to play for or with. As a player/coach JT played SS/outfield during his entire career. Loading his team up with 7 lefties and 3 righties, JT’s teams won 6 city titles, 2 county titles, 4 NY State titles, 3 NIT tournaments, 4 World Series Berths, numerous runner-up finishes in NIT and Regional Tournaments. The teams consisted of childhood friends who grew up on the north side of Syracuse. Many rivalries and friendships developed because of this great game. Although one of the most competitive individuals during his career, Jeff developed respect for opposing players/ coaches but more importantly the umpires. Jeff played the game with honor and coached the game with class. When they say the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree, JT is the spitting image of his Dad Tony and because of this he makes everyone around him feel part of a family.
Jeff is still coaching today as a Baseball/Softball hitting/fielding Instructor for Perfect Practice and also volunteers as a HS baseball coach during the spring and as a girls’ travel softball coach during the summer.
