Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2004
Inducted : April 2005, Syracuse, NY.
A native of Rochester, New York, Bill's Kodak Apparatus Division (K.A.D.) team won the first ever 1990 USSSA Women's World Industrial Championship in Coco Florida. One of his players, Jan Griffin Troast, hit the very first out of the park home run, with the ball being sent to the National USSSA Hall of Fame along with Bill's jersey.
In 1991 Bill's Kodak team became the first Women's team to successfully defend their title in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 1992 the Kodak team finished 2nd in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and in 1993 another 2nd place finish in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 1989, the Kodak team finished 2nd in both the National Invitational in Stamford, Connecticut and the Northeastern Divisional in Rochester, New York. The Kodak (K.A.D.) team also participated in the Eastern States Industrial Tournament, placing 1st in 1983 in Rochester, New York and again in 1984 in Stamford Connecticut.
As a little side note, Bill said that by winning the USSSA Women's Industrial Tournament, Rochester, New York major industrial softball has come full circle, from world titles in the 30's and 40's to the 90's. The Kodak Park men's fast pitch team has won two world titles, the men's Kodak Apparatus Division slow pitch team won a world title in 1982 and with the women's slow pitch team titles in 1990 and 1991 the cycle is complete.
