In the mid '60's', a group of young men looking for an activity to accompany their drinking habits found softball. 'Last Call' for the Met's was nearly 20 years later, but in between there were numerous league and playoff championships and a multitude of tournament trophies gathered in by these organized rebels.

The success achieved by this dedicated gang of softball junkies was unparalleled. Playing in the highest leagues, against the best competition, the Met's were softball's Dream Team. With new uniforms added to their wardrobe each year, no other team's attire matched them and the Met's didn't wear T-shirts and gym shorts, their outfits compared to the uniforms worn by professionals.

Above the uniforms, the sponsors, the friends and relatives who supported them, the exotic mascots and the success the Met's achieved for a fifth of a century, one thing really made them standout. It was the unity that kept this team together all year around and partying with the Met's was the 'In Thing' to do. Some players did not care if they played or not, just as long as they could be part of the organization. Yes to quote Teri Hatcher, 'they're real and they're spectacular! That's the Met's'

The only statistic that you need to know about them is that in their history, they played in 43 leagues and finished 1st or 2nd ----- 42 times.

Paul Iacuone, Ed Calabria, Jan Fetterly, Otto Calabria, Jim Mix, Frank Leonardi, Jim Renna, Mike Prime, Domer Ciciriello, Bill Tomey, Fred Brown, Tony Campitillo, Brian Dick, Jim Michaels, Larry Kelly, Chuck Impeliziere, Bob Weller, Craig Mason, Ed Marsallo, John Glover, Glen Eichelberger and Jon Insel all wore a Met's uniform. All were a part of the Met's experience that was 'The Best' then, and many years later they still remain ------ the best
