During the holiday seasons between 1999 and 2008 the team visited the sick children at the child-life-center in Stony Brook hospital.  Our pitcher dressed up as Santa Claus and each player brought gifts to distribute to all the kids. Eventually received donations from several organizations and we were able to provide the top gifts to the children.  The players also visited other floors including the children that did not have families and played games with them for several hours.

Started the team bowl-a-thon to raise money for the team and Stony Brook hospital----eventually raised money for the Marty Lyons Foundation that grants wishes to sick children. (2001-2010)
