Dan Monti

Dan was born in Germany in 1947 to Army parents but was raised and lived his life in East Syracuse, NY. He Graduates from East Syracuse High School with varsity letters in football, wrestling, lacrosse and track. He started working at The Pen and Trophy Center in 1965 and ultimately bought the business in 1982.  He married and had two children, Kim and Dan III. In addition, Dan also owned and operated Novel T-Shirts in Baldwinsville and the first karaoke club on the East Coast, The Sing-a-long Saloon, in East Syracuse.

Dan has been involved in the sponsorship of softball leagues and playing the game since the early eighties until the present with several championships along the way.  Dan has been recognized for his services by the East Syracuse Little League, East Syracuse Jaycees, the Manlius police department, the St.Patrick’s Day parade committee as Gael of the year and the city of Syracuse.

One of Dan’s proudest softball accomplishments was playing on a team with his son, grandson, son-in-law and nephews.  He continue to play softball, broom ball and golfs.  He enjoys spending time with his children, six grandchildren, family and vacationing with his wife Fran.  Dan has since retired and sold the The Pen and Trophy to his son who continues to sponsor softball teams
