After growing up in Queens NY, with a dream to be Mickey Mantle, sports was the single most important focus in Mark’s world. Through all levels of school he was fortunate to play baseball, basketball and soccer.
Mark’s desire to maintain his passion for baseball led him to play softball from the time he was 22 thru his early 50s. Along with playing ball he was fortunate to build a career in the apparel industry, starting at Saks 5thavenue and gaining enough experience to wind up being one of the initial three to create Tommy Hilfiger. After years of chairing several apparel companies, it became apparent that owning his own business was the way to go.
Now after 28 years of owning his core company GalihadEnterprises and creating a team sports brand TYJA he is able to enjoy the blend of apparel and sports. Thru this sequence of events it is Mark’s desire to continue to play softball and even sponsor the teams he plays on. After 10 years of running a team called Darksidewith great success Mark pushed into the conference USSSA world, winning the 2012 conference event.
Mark’s focus is now on his family, his wonderful wife Janet, and his 2 sons Jarrett 13 and Ty 9 (TYJA), and being the only thing that really matters “a great husband and father.
