Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2011
Inducted : March 2012, Islandia, NY
Created by Robert E. Fortier, nicknamed Bobby Dawg, Team Dawgbegan with cartoon dog character tee shirt designs which were worn by the Team Dawgsoftball team that with the addition of long time friend Ed Clampitt, grew into a children’s book series and classroom workshops, with the focus on family, respect, teamwork, communication and being a good citizen.
Bobby’s dedication, love and passion for the game of softball helped him to establish a reputation of being highly competitive while maintaining the utmost level of integrity and respect for the game and all of the people involved in it from the players to the umpires and directors. He credits his wife Lori, daughter Kati and son Robby for filling his heart with sunshine everyday!
This recognition is truly a team effort in every sense of the word. Without the continued support and exceptional talent of all my teammates over the years Team Dawgcould not have achieved the success that it has both on and off the softball field!
Bobby would like to thank all his family and friends and every teammate that has ever worn the Team Dawguniform, along with the USSSA Directors, Umpires, and selection Committee for their constant support though out the years. With a most special thank you to my family for all their love and support. With a tremendous amount of gratitude to Tim Lord and Worth Sports the entire Emdefamily. To Jimmy Ciociaand Rick Sorrentinofor your friendship and always believing in me! Thank you.
