Anthony, a native of Hauppauge, New York, has maintained a lifelong association with softball. After competing in local tournaments as a player, he transitioned to the role of umpire, where he discovered his professional calling. Over the past 35 years, Anthony has consistently demonstrated fairness, dedication, and comprehensive understanding of the game across numerous fields. For the last three decades, he has also served as the assigner for Smithtown umpires, providing steady leadership and commitment to the position.
Umpiring represents more than employment for Anthony—it has been a source of genuine satisfaction, reflected in his performance and rapport with teams over the years. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Anthony is a devoted husband to Karen, father to Annie and Jamie, and grandfather to four grandchildren. As an enthusiastic supporter of the New York Yankees, he recently entered retirement, planning to enjoy time with family and engage further in his passion for baseball.
