Dan Herman

Dan Herman was born in Canandaigua, NY and raised in Macedon, NY. After graduating from Pal-Mac High School, he has been residing in Palmyra NY with his wife, Kay, for 39 years. They have two daughters, Danielle and Kathleen along with four grandchildren; Ethan (13), Brogan (7), Kennedy (7) ad Gretchen (6). 

Growing up he played T-Shirt, Little and Senior League, American Legion and also lettering in three years of varsity baseball and two years varsity basketball.  After High School Dan played twenty years of slow pitch softball before switching to MSBL and NABA baseball for another 20 years. Winning the 2007 MSBL World Series Tournament in the National Bracket in Phoenix. Az.

He started his officiating at the age of thirteen volunteering for Little League.  He continued his officiating for the next 50 years balancing between playing and officiating. All of his achievements have occurred in recent years.

Dan has attended several Umpire Schools; two New York State High School, two ASA/USA National Schools, one USSSA National School, three NCAA Camps.

Dan’s achievements include; three NY State High School Championships, eight Section V High School Finals, Four NY State Regional Championships, Five ASA/USA National Championships, Six NCAA Conference Championships, two NCAA Regional Championships, one NCAA Super Regional Championships.

Dan has attained the following; ASA/USA National Indicator Fraternity and ASA/USA NY State Indicator Fraternity.

Dan has been with USSSA/SORA for over 20 years and has been a leader in the Fast Pitch program.
