Jim has officiated slow pitch softball for over 25 years for USSSA. He has umpired in every division from the youth leagues up to conference and major softball.
His accomplishments include umpiring in many NIT's, States, and World Series slow pitch softball games during his career. He was appointed to the board of directors of the Brookhaven Officials Association in 1991 and assumed the position of President of the BrookhavensOfficials Association and its more than 100 members in 1996. Along with umpiring Slow pitch, Jim has also worked with youth boys baseball and Girls fast pitch programs in the town of Brookhaven.
One of Jim’s responsibility as the Association president is to work with new umpires at the beginning of each season to help them better understand what they have learned during their umpire training class along with positioning and attitude on the field during games.
Jim would like to thank his wife Patti and his family for their understanding of his love for the game and his commitment to the Softball, Baseball and Fast pitch programs in the Town of Brookhaven on Long Island. Jim would also like to thank the Brookhaven Town organization and Selection Committee for his induction into the New York State USSSA Hall of Fame.
