Richard Hoffner was born in Brooklyn, NY on 10/11/1961. He was raised in Massapequa, NY.
He graduated Massapequa HS in 1979, played high school baseball from freshman year and
spent junior and senior year on varsity.
 
Richard attended and graduated from SUNY Farmingdale in 1983. He has been married for 30
years to his wife Karen and the two of them have 3 children, Tracey, Ryan, and Jaimie. Currently
Richard resides in Stony Brook, NY.
 
Richard is a senior project manager for a commercial construction management firm.
 
He played ASA league and tournament slow-pitch softball in Nassau County throughout the
1980s until 1993.
 
He became a USSSA Umpire in 1994 until 2016.
Rich worked many NYS tournaments on Long Island, D&E National Tournaments on Long
Island and in 2009, worked the E World Tournament in Orlando.
 
He is a two time recipient of the “Brookhavein Officials" 
Nick Carulli Umpire of the Year award winner  in 2001 and 2011,
