Sammy Kimble was born on July 10, 1947 in Holly Bluff, MS to the parents of John and Martha Kimble. Sammy has nine siblings,6 brothers and 3 sisters his bbrothers are Charlie, James, & Lonny who were recently inducted into Umpire Hall of Fame along with him back in October 2013 his other brothers names are IvIvory Joe (Ike) John and Thomas his sisters are Lottie Mae Thenia and Anne. Sam has 2 daughters Jackie and Ashley. He graduated from Yazoo City High School. Sam moved to Rochester in 1970 and worked for Gleason for a short period shortly afterwards` he began working for the City School District  for 25 yyears. His other great love is refereeing basketball which he has done for nearly 35 years. He has umpired softball for 38 years and 28 years under USSSA. Sam iiis  known as an excellent, umpire always anticipating and focusing on making the right call. When Sam isn’t umpiring he’s doing security work for events taking plpace throughout Rochester
