Teddy Tuggles

Teddy Tuggles was born in Rochester, NY. He currently lives in the town of Gates with his Wife Alicia Tuggles. He has lived there for the past 28 years. They raised three children:Alonna, Teddy and Latesha.

Teddy graduated in 1981 from Franklin High School. While attending Franklin High School he played 3 years of Varsity basketball where he was the starting point guard and team captain. After his high school career, he attended Finger Lakes Community College where he also was a member of the Basketball team and starting point guard.

Teddy knew right away that he wanted to have more of a direct impact with youth athletics. He began coaching various youth sports while his children were growing up in Gates. For example: softball, baseball, basketball, and football. He also coached AAU travel basketball for many years. Just when he thought he was going to conclude his coaching career, he accepted the Boys Modified basketball position at Gates Chili Middle School.

Teddy finally decided to conclude his coaching career once his last child graduated high school. However, he still had the passion to stay connected to youth sports.

In 2009, Teddy began his officiating career and joined Board 60. Shortly after he began officiating youth basketball for USSSA. He currently officiates Varsity High School basketball.

Refereeing and coaching youth basketball has allowed Teddy to become a lifelong learner as well as teacher on the court. Refereeing youth basketball is an opportunity he cherishes as he has the ability to influence children’s character on and off the court.

Highlights:

For the past 9 years he has officiated approximately 450 games annually for youth basketball.

Officiated Sectional Finals, 3 Semi-Finals, Sectionals each year of Varsity Basketball.
