Back in the 80's a group of women that had a love and passion for the game of softball met when they all played against each other in local recreational softball leagues. It did not take long for this group to get together and take the game on the road. Twenty years later we could not tell you how many games or tournaments we won, how many miles we traveled, or how many states we played in, but we do know that playing the game of softball defined us. We did play under the name of La Pizzeria, but that was one of many team names along with JR's and Fucillo Auto Mall. We did not have much sponsorship, no fancy uniforms, or donated equipment, but when we stepped foot on the field our talent and chemistry was a great equalizer. There was no secret to our success, we just loved the game. We looked forward to the weekend tournaments and created a lifetime of memories that we still share to this day when we get together. It is an honor to be inducted into the NYS USSSA Hall of Fame and to be recognized for the many years of participation in a game we loved to play.
